A NIGHT AT THE OPERA
Role: Design + Product Photography
In response to Queen’s original A Night At The Opera 1975 album, the main objective of this project was to create a visual system based off of the perceived identity of the music. After listening to the entirety of the album, I recognized the significance of the album’s experimentation and wanted to reflect this in both my process and design. To do so, I set out a goal to challenge myself in the design process and to push my boundaries. As a result, I developed new skills in both isometric design and gradient treatments, enabling Queen’s brilliance to be imbued into the new album.
The goal of the project was to re-release the album to the public in support of the Mercury Phoenix Trust Fund, as well as host a benefit concert celebrating the 40th anniversary of Live Aid. I developed the concert using the same date and general location of the original, and programmed appearances from all active artists who were in the original lineup. I established the line-up to attract all different age groups and music lovers and developed brand merchandise and ticketing for the event as well.
